“Do Something For Nothing”

A few months ago I was given the pleasure of attending a food bloggers event organised by @London and @clerkenwellboyce. The purpose of this event was to explore London’s food culture from market to Michelin and to help raise awareness of a charity called Do something for nothing

We started the day having “breakfast with a view” at the Mondrian Hotel where we were served a great spread including salmon and cream cheese bagels, fruit, smoothies, avocado on toast and lots of tea and coffee to fuel us for the day.

We then continued on to London’s Borough market where we were given £10 to buy as much as we could from there. This came into use later in the day. Here we celebrated the colours of the market and focusing on farmers produce and artisan goods. I decide to buy a range of products from mushrooms to grapefruit.

From here we went on to explore London’s Michelin where we had an amazing afternoon tea at London’s famous Fortnum and Mason’s. The diamond jubilee salon, originally opened by her majesty The Queen has now become a stylish destination for the most traditional of afternoon teas and we were presented with a lovely spread, unlimited tea and a glass of champagne. We also were given a gift card worth £10 to spend on anything from the store. Here I purchased a range of different spices which again would be used later in the day.

Next stop was Camden Market. Here we went to Camden Kerb where we were given a map and the option to eat as much as we can from all the stalls exploring London’s street food. I tried the chicken strips from @cluck_you and the amazing halloumi fries from @oli_babas. Both tasted fantastic!

Lastly we ended our day at Jamie’s 15 where we met a few of his graduates and heard they’re inspiring stories. Here we also emptied our purchases from the market and fortnums which was then used by Jamie’s graduates to create an amazing meal which was to be distributed to the homeless shelters.

The entire day was a great experience and it was a pleasure to be a part of something that could help the less fortunate. #DoSomethingForNothing.
